성균관의대 삼성서울병원 영상의학과 임재훈(林在勳) 교수가 유럽의 권위있는 학술지 Clinical Radiology에서 해마다 가장 뛰어난 논문에 수여하는 ‘Ellis Barnett Prize'의 수상자로 선정됐다.
임 교수는 이 학술지에 "간암의 초음파 발견: 수술전 초음파와 절제한 간 조직병리와의 상관성(Ultrasonographic detection of hepatocellular carcinoma: correlation of preoperative ultrasonography and resected liver pathology)"이라는 논문을 게재한 바 있다.
이 논문의 우수성이 인정돼 수상자로 선정됐다.
임 교수는 2008년 5월 런던에서 열리는 시상식에 참여할 예정이다.
한편, 임 교수는 작년 ESGAR(European society of gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology) 학회에서도 "캡슐이 있는 간암의 CT-병리 소견 상관성(Encapsulated hepatocellular carcinoma : CT-pathologic correlations)" 논문으로 은상을 수상한 바 있다.
